Lesson 4 of 9
Observe: five senses sweep
About 3 min
The goal
Take in what's around you with words switched off.
Do it step by step
- 1
Sit or stand somewhere comfortable.
- 2
Spend about 30 seconds on each sense: sight, sound, touch, smell, taste.
- 3
Just notice. If a label or opinion pops up, let it pass like a car going by.
- 4
Finish by noticing how your body feels now.
For parents
If a sense is overwhelming for your teen (e.g. sound), skip it. Observing should never mean enduring sensory pain.
